About this event

Lace up and chase the sunrise along one of America's most beautiful roads: the 30A Half Marathon & 5K brings runners from across the country to Scenic Highway 30A in Santa Rosa Beach for a coastal race weekend unlike any other. The out-and-back course begins and ends at Gulf Place, rolling past sugar-white dunes, coastal dune lakes, and iconic beach communities, with the emerald Gulf shimmering just steps away.

Race weekend kicks off Friday evening with a lively BBQ Festival at Gulf Place — live music, local barbecue, and craft beer set the tone for two days of fun. Whether you're taking on the half marathon or the 5K, all finishers receive a medal, race t-shirt, and swag bag, then celebrate together at the post-race party featuring live music. Registration benefits The Sonder Project, a global nonprofit building schools and clean water access in communities facing extreme poverty.

With a flat, scenic course, cool October weather, and one of the Gulf Coast's warmest crowds, the 30A Half Marathon is a bucket-list race for anyone who loves running — or just loves an excuse to spend a long weekend on 30A.

Best for: Active travelers, runners, beach-loving athletes

What to expect: A scenic out-and-back coastal race along Scenic 30A, post-race party with live music, and a Friday-night BBQ Festival kickoff.

Planning tip: Register early — the half marathon typically sells out. Book accommodations along 30A months in advance since October is still busy season. The BBQ Festival on Friday night is free and family-friendly.

Cost: Registration fee varies by tier and entry type; proceeds benefit The Sonder Project charitable nonprofit.
